

Within walking distance of Autrain Lake, Lake Superior and the Hiawatha National Forest, which surrounds the entire area.

Autrain Lake South Shore; This lake is accessible by a public launch at the campground, and by river. ( access from the cottage possible )This lake is known to produce walleye, pike, bass and perch. Also known for its water sports, it is an excellent lake for skiing, boarding, jet ski's, tubing and just relaxing. This lake also freezes over and is great for ice fishing.

The Autrain River empties into Lake Superior less than two miles from the cottage, yet winds through the National Forest for 9 miles. This is the Beach in Autrain, most likely the best that can be found on Lake Superior, and positively the warmest place to swim. Lake access is in the bay 3 miles west of Autrain. There are numerous falls in the area, most of which can be reached by vehicle, others are a short walk into the woods.
The Hiawatha National Forest provides everything an outdoor enthusiast would need.

I am a wealth of knowledge when it comes to exploring our area, I am an avid outdoorsman and ATV rider and if you have heard of it, chances are I've been there, or done that. I also know some places "off the radar" if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas.
